Taking It to the Streets

Around the world, millions of people are living with and impacted by dementia.

Yet dementia continues to be surrounded by a fear-, shame- and stigma-filled “cone of silence”
that impacts us all.

Together, we can, we must and we will shatter the silence about dementia.

Recognizing the power of the arts for social change, Reimagining Dementia: A Creative Coalition for Justice teamed up with Simon Law to create an original song, “Let’s Reimagine” as part of a global campaign.

We May Soon Be Telling a Very Different Kind of Story About Dementia
Lynn Castel Harper speaks about the tragedy narrative of dementia that tells a story of inexorable decline and universal diminishment. But we may soon be telling a very different kind of story about dementia. Other approaches are emerging, stories that offer multifaceted depictions of dementia, situating the condition and those it affects back on the spectrum of human experience. © 2025 The New York Times Company.
